Volunteer with the AFP - Greater Philadelphia Chapter

 

Volunteers are essential to the success of all AFP-GPC’s workshops, seminars and events.  We invite you to share your time and talents and hope you will also benefit by increasing your networking among a range of skilled fund-raising professionals, developing new skills, working on committees, having fun, and supporting your local AFP chapter. Please consider volunteering in one of the following areas: 

 

NPD Awards Committee

Reviews nominations for National Philanthropy Day Awards and recommends slate for AFP-GPC Board review.

Diversity & Outreach Committee

Encourages and promotes inclusiveness in the profession and in our organizations.

Franklin Forum Committee

Plans for a wide variety of educational sessions for fundraising professionals at all levels through AFP-GPC’s one day conference.  There are multiple sub-committees.

Government Relations Committee

Informs members of legislative regulatory activity that may impact non-profit sector and encourages members to advocate on behalf of the sector.

Fundamentals of Fund Raising Committee

Assists smaller, grassroots non-profits in developing effective fundraising skills and strategies through a series of workshops.

Membership Committee

Works to increase chapter membership by developing strategies to recruit new members and retain current members. Also developes new members benefits.

Mentoring Committee

Matches mentors with early career fundraisers in year long relationships to help fundraising professionals strengthen their skills and networking capabilities.

National Philanthropy Day Committee

Organizes annual luncheon in celebration of National Philanthropy Day and recognizes philanthropists within the Greater Philadelphia region. There are multiple sub-committees.

Program Committee

Develops workshops, one and half day seminars and breakfast networking events to provide professional development and training opportunities to AFP members and non-members.

Scholarship Committee

            Promotes scholarship opportunities and reviews individual applications for scholarships.
