D'Ann Petersen is a business economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Her responsibilities include analyzing regional economic conditions and conducting in-depth research on topics important to the Texas economy. She publishes research findings in the bank’s regional publication—Southwest Economy, business journals and other publications. As part of the regional group, D'Ann prepares written reports for internal and external audiences, including the Dallas Fed President and the Dallas Fed web site  Petersen’s other responsibilities include tracking the housing and commercial real estate sectors for the regional group and writing and contributing to the 11th District Beige Book—the Bank’s survey of regional economic conditions. Topics of interest (and research) include housing, commercial real estate, construction and demographics.

D'Ann has a Bachelors degree in economics from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree in economics from Southern Methodist University.

D'Ann began working for the Dallas Fed in 1989. She took a break to work in the real estate industry for a few years then stayed home with her twin boys when they were born in 1998.
She rejoined the Dallas Fed in the fall of 2002.
