What is the Association?    I    What is its Mission?

What is the Clinical Social Work Assocation?

The Association is a national individual membership organization dedicated to providing essential services, products, professional support, and national identity for Clinical Social Workers.

The Association is an outgrowth of the Clinical Social Work Federation, a 30+ year old national organization with a rich and successful history of advocacy on behalf of Clinical Social Workers.  As a Federation, the organization worked through its state societies, however,  in May 2006 its Board of Directros transfomed it into an indvidual membership association in order to provide more effective and efficient services.

The Association membership consists of Clinical Social Workers, New Professionals (clinical social workers who have graduated within the last four years), Emeritus members, and Students.

While primarily an individual membership organization, the Association does believe that strong state societies are as important as a strong national organization.  We have, therefore, made provisions that allow state societies to affiliate with the Association.  For more information, click here.

What is the Mission of the Association?

The Association's mission is to promote execellence in clinical social work practice through the advancement of the profession for the benefit of clients and the clinicians who serve them.

The Association fulfills its mission through advocacy at the national and state level on matters related to the profession, mental health, education, and information distributed to its members.
